L’Escola de Música de Palafolls neix a partir de l’ampliació d’un petit edifici de les antigues escoles, bloc longitudinal de planta baixa i planta pis, situat davant d’una gran esplanada al centre del poble.
La proposta aprofita l’edifici existent per ubicar-hi les aules i espais de servei, que corresponen correctament a les dimensions necessàries.
I els espais de més grans dimensions, com la sala d’assaig de dansa i l’auditori, es construeixen com a nous volums que donen a l’edifici la presència de nou equipament públic i façana davant la plaça. Els dos cossos s’enllacen amb la formació d’una nova façana que tanca el vestíbul del conjunt.
The Escola de Música de Palafolls was born from the extension of a small building of the old schools, a longitudinal block of ground floor and first floor, located in front of a large esplanade in the center of town.
The proposal takes advantage of the existing building to locate the classrooms and service spaces, which correspond correctly to the necessary dimensions.
And the larger spaces, such as the dance rehearsal room and the auditorium, are being built as new volumes that give the building the presence of new public facilities and a façade in front of the square. The two bodies are connected by the formation of a new façade that closes the lobby of the complex.
