La Plaça de Can Colom és una plaça contínua, transitable en totes direccions i accessible, assumint les diferències de cota amb pendents dirigits al centre de la plaça on està situada la masia de Can Colom.
Es manté la configuració i els acabats dels carrers de l’entorn que limiten amb el perímetre de la plaça i s’adapta la topografia de l’espai interior de la plaça al nivell original del paviment de la masia de Can Colom, la qual cosa comporta que la superfície de la plaça es desenvolupi en pendent des del perímetre cap al centre on es troba ubicada la masia.
La gran superfície de la plaça és coberta per un ratllat horitzontal discontinu de franges de diferents paviments, que colonitzen tota la superfície fins als límits de la plaça definits per les diferents amplades de la vorera perimetral. Tot segueix l’ordre ortgonal marcat pels eixos de la masia, accepta la única diagonal que es repeteix a la plaça és donada per la paral·lela al carrer Martí i Codolar.
El projecte defineix els acabats de tots els paviments, la vegetació, mobiliari i totes les instal·lacions de plaça, que són similars als dels espais urbans de l’entorn però, que en ésser utilitzats de manera fragmentada i formant superfícies reduïdes que es repeteixen, donen a l’entorn de la Masia unes característiques diferenciades de l’entorn per tal de destacar el nou ús públic de l’edifici.
Plaça de Can Colom is a continuous square, passable in all directions and accessible, assuming the differences in elevation with slopes directed to the center of the square where the Can Colom farmhouse is located.
The configuration and finishes of the surrounding streets that border the perimeter of the square are maintained and the topography of the interior space of the square is adapted to the original level of the pavement of the Can Colom farmhouse, which it means that the surface of the square develops on a slope from the perimeter to the center where the farmhouse is located.
The large surface of the square is covered by a discontinuous horizontal stripe of strips of different pavements, which colonize the entire surface to the limits of the square defined by the different widths of the perimeter sidewalk. Everything follows the orthogonal order marked by the axes of the farmhouse, accepting the only diagonal that is repeated in the square is given by the parallel to Martí i Codolar street.
The project defines the finishes of all the pavements, the vegetation, furniture and all the facilities of square, that are similar to those of the urban spaces of the surroundings but, when being used of fragmented way and forming reduced surfaces that are repeated , give the surroundings of the Masia different characteristics of the surroundings in order to highlight the new public use of the building.
